HOMEMADE ALMOND BUTTER
I’m a huge fan of homemade products and I like preparing everything from the scratch. I like it because know what I eat and how it affects my body. This is how you can stay fit and healthy! So… I made my own almond butter and I must say that it was an adventure.
First of all, for making it you should’ve better provide yourself with a good food processor since my blender has almost broken down.
You can use roasted or raw almonds. I like it with roasted almonds so start with baking a cup of raw almonds in the oven preheated to 250 F for about 10-15 minutes.
Then, place the almonds in a food processor. Secure the lid and allow to process for 5 minutes. Next, do a break and continue to process for another 3-5 minutes. You can see the almonds turn into a crumbly dry crumb and after the almonds should turn into a rough butter. Process longer for creamier butter. Approximately 20 -30 minutes. The timing of making it creamy will depend on the size of your food processor and the amount of almonds. Put it into a sealed glass jar.
Almonds are very hard so, if you used other kind of nuts as cashew or macadamia it might be easier. Anyways, making homemade almond butter is worth your effort since it has no sugar or any other unhealthy additives added. Almonds are good for fighting everyday stress and can improve your mood. So, eat them when you get a chance! You can grab a hand of raw almonds or teaspoon of your delicious homemade almond butter.
